PARISH UPDATES

After consultation with representatives of the London Deanery, Bishop Fabbro changed some of the family of parishes.  He officially announced the decision in May 6, 2020.

 

 

You can take a look at the list of the families in the London Deanery, including St. John the Divine and St. George Parishes.

After consultation with both parish staffs and parish leaders, a letter was sent to Bishop Fabbro requesting that activation of the family of parishes for St. John the Divine and St. George.

Fr. Don Pumputis and Fr. John Jasica sent the same letter regarding the plan to move forward with the FAMILY OF PARISHES process along with their own Parish Thanksgiving Appeal letter.

Fr. John writes an article/blog post about the first steps of building the “family of parishes” for the St. George Parish Shield (bulletin).  This is a first in a series of articles reflecting on and describing the journey.

HOMILY AT ST. JOHN THE DIVINE OCTOBER 25, 2020

Fr. John preached at all the weekend Masses at St. John the Divine Parish on the weekend of October 24-25, 2020.  This was a chance to begin the conversation and inform the faithful about the process that is just underway.

Deacon Don St. Onge preached at all the weekend Masses October 31-November 1, 2020 at St. George Parish.  He shared a bit about the journey so far in forming our FAMILY OF PARISHES and gave a wonderful reflection for the Solemnity of All Saints

FAMILY TIES WEEK #1 – Fr. John preaches a new message series exploring the six principles being used for the journey ahead to form the St. John the Divine and St. George “family of parishes”.

TRANSITION TEAM MEETING #1

This first meeting of the Transition Team was a chance to get to know one another, share the gifts of each parish and deepen the understanding concerning the “family of parishes” and the process moving forward.

FAMILY TIES WEEK #3 – Fr. John concludes this three week message series by reminding all of us that we are to gather all people like the Good Shepherd and King Christ is.  Fr. John also shares the last two Guiding Principles in the journey for the “family of parishes”.

TRANSITION TEAM MEETING #2

This second meeting of the Transition Team was a chance to do some more reflecting, develop a communications/feedback plan and to share how can already begin to work together.

JOINT ONLINE CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2020

Choirs from St. John the Divine and St. George put together a wonderful event filled with faith, hope, joy and Christmas!!  Recorded at both parishes, this beautiful concert offers hope and joy at the birth of our Lord and Saviour.

TRANSITION TEAM CHRISTMAS 2020 LETTER

The Transition Team sent out an update via the St. John the Divine and St. George Christmas mail-out sharing the next steps in the process of the formation of our “family of parishes”.  Fr. John wrote this letter on behalf of the team inviting everyone to the upcoming online/call in “FAMILY CIRCLE” gatherings seeking input, questions, ideas and concerns from parishioners.

BISHOP FABBRO ACTIVATION ANNOUCEMENT

Bishop Fabbro officially announces the activation of our St. John the Divine and St. George Family of Parishes, appointing Fr. Michael Bechard as the pastor and Fr. Pedro Zuniga as the associate pastor.

This third meeting of the Transition Team was a chance to do some preparing for the first FAMILY CIRCLE gathering in addition to meeting the new incoming pastor–Fr. Michael Bechard
